BEFORE YOU ARRIVE

Reaching Koyasan
is only the beginning.

Koyasan can be reached by train, cable car and bus. Travelling onward to Kumano is a different story. Sacred sites, rural inns and Kumano Kodo trailheads are spread across a mountainous peninsula, while public transport is limited and connections can consume much of the day.

Add luggage, changing weather and a trail that begins and ends in different places, and a beautiful journey can quickly become a logistical puzzle.

Plan the connections before you travel — and let the road become part of the experience.

THE SEAMLESS DIFFERENCE

We do not ask you to shape
your journey around a timetable.

A private vehicle connects the places between the transport lines: your hotel, a temple lodging, a quiet trailhead, a country restaurant, an onsen and the next destination.

01

Leave when you are ready.

Begin from Kansai Airport, an Osaka or Kyoto hotel, Koyasan, or another agreed location.

02

Walk by choice.

Choose a meaningful section of the Kumano Kodo. Your driver can meet you at the other end while your luggage remains with the vehicle.

03

Keep room for the unexpected.

A slower morning, changing weather or tired legs need not undo the entire journey. Feasible adjustments can be discussed as conditions change.

04

Let travel time restore you.

Settle into a premium private vehicle, watch the Kii Peninsula unfold and arrive with energy for what matters next.

Your larger luggage can remain with the vehicle, leaving you free to carry only what you need for the walk.

FAQ

Before we begin.

Practical answers for planning a private journey across the Kii Peninsula.

Can you collect us at Kansai Airport or our hotel in Osaka or Kyoto?

Private pickup can be discussed. Please share your date, pickup point, guest number, luggage and first destination so we can check timing and availability.

Can we travel directly from Koyasan to Kumano?

Yes, a private transfer or multi-day bespoke journey can be discussed. Stops, travel time and the best vehicle depend on your interests, accommodation and luggage.

Do we have to walk a long distance on the Kumano Kodo?

No. You may select a section that suits your interest and ability, subject to trail and vehicle access. Your driver can meet you at an agreed endpoint.

What happens to our luggage while we walk?

For suitable itineraries, larger luggage can remain in the vehicle. Please tell us the number and approximate size of your bags.

Do your drivers speak English?

Our drivers are not presented as fluent English speakers. We use translation apps, and a professional interpreter may be arranged upon request and availability.

Can the itinerary change because of weather or how we feel?

A private vehicle provides more flexibility than a fixed group tour. We will discuss feasible alternatives, although road conditions, reservations and operating hours may limit changes.

Do you arrange accommodation and cultural experiences?

Tell us what you are looking for. We will explain what we can coordinate directly and what should be reserved through a travel partner or external booking site.

How much will the journey cost?

Prices vary significantly with route, duration, vehicle, waiting time, guiding, interpretation and other arrangements. We provide an individual quotation after understanding your journey.
