What Is the Fixed-Fare Shared Airport Taxi?
A reservation-only shared taxi that takes you directly from your home or temple lodging (shukubo) to Kansai International Airport.
This is a new initiative operated jointly by Koyasan Taxi and NearMe, a ridesharing reservation system provider.
Previously, travelers had to transfer between trains and buses multiple times. With this service, you can reach the airport smoothly with a single taxi ride.


Why Launch This Service?
Koyasan faces challenges as a transportation gap area, with limited public transit options.
Especially for travelers with large luggage or those needing to reach the airport quickly, public transportation can be inconvenient due to multiple transfers and indirect routes.


By combining the reliability of a local taxi company with the latest reservation system, this project aims to provide residents and visitors with a more convenient and comfortable mobility option.

How to Use

On the booking site, please enter:

Q. How late can I book? A. Same-day booking may be possible, but we recommend booking early as some dates can be busy. Dispatch confirmation is generally provided within 24 hours. Even if dispatch is not available, enabling “Wait until a seat opens” may allow your reservation to be confirmed once a seat becomes available.
Q. When does it become a shared ride? Is there waiting time? A. This is a shared-ride service by design. You apply with a time window, and the final time is determined based on vehicle scheduling, other passengers’ timing, traffic conditions, etc. If another rider is on the same route, you will be notified (e.g., in the final confirmation email the day before). For airport departures, the recommended desired time is: Domestic flights: 1 hour after arrival / International flights: 3 hours after arrival.
Q. What if I have a lot of luggage (fees / limits)? A. An additional JPY 1,000 per suitcase applies. There are size limits for luggage: as a guideline, Large: total of 3 sides within 200 cm / Carry-on equivalent: total of 3 sides within 150 cm. We recommend registering all items except small bags placed on your lap, as the dispatch vehicle may change depending on luggage count.
Q. How many passengers can ride? A. 4 to 6 people. If your group is large, booking a private charter taxi may reduce the per-person cost. Please contact Koyasan Taxi for details.
Q. Can I get a receipt? A. After booking as a member, you can issue a receipt from your My Page booking history (you can also enter a company name and addressee). For guest bookings, you can issue it via the link in the ride-completion email.
